Anastasia’s Story

I am originally from Cleveland, Ohio. I am third in line of eight children, three boys and five girls. As you can imagine there was never a dull moment. My growing up years were filled with adventures of all sorts, moving several times, and Cleveland Indians games. Go Tribe! In second grade, my teacher greatly impacted me. I decided that I wanted to be a teacher when I grew up.

I graduated from Bluffton College in 2000 with a major in Elementary Education and a minor in Youth Ministry and Psychology. My husband Jonathan and I were married soon after graduation and moved to Indiana a week later.

It was a lot of life changes at once but also a time to depend on Jesus in a new way.

Jonathan and I still go on weekly dates after 18 years. We love this weekly time to connect and go deeper in our marriage.

In the fall of 2000, I began teaching 6th grade Reading full time at the Middle School. I taught there for 3 years and then moved over to an Elementary School and taught 2nd grade for 3 years. I learned so much in those years of teaching and do miss it some.

The greatest job I have ever had though is being a Mom. In my last year of teaching, I was pregnant with our oldest daughter. I have been home ever since. Now, we have four kids, ages 12, 10, 8, and 6.
