Flowers, Singing and a Tattoo

It has been a great week around here. How has yours been? Flowers, Singing and a Tattoo are just a few of my favorite things from this week. Read on to see what my other favorites are.

1. Flowers Just Because

I walked out into the Kitchen/Dining Room area and found these beautiful flowers. Jonathan snuck home and placed them on the kitchen table while I was taking a nap. The color of these roses is just beautiful! Jonathan also wrote encouraging note which was a big boost for me that day as it had been a challenging week.

2.Β Visit with one of my best Friends

Over the weekend, one of my best friends came in from Ohio. It was a quick trip for them so it was such a gift to have a few moments to catch up. We keep in touch through Voxer throughout the week. But, to have face to face was a blessing. I treasure the friendship I share with Marcie. The way she faces challenges head on by resting in God’s strength has forever impacted me. My friendship with Marcie has helped me to become more like Jesus.

3. Singing on Worship Team

It is a privilege for me to be a part of the Worship Team at our church. There are many vocalists that make up our team. I sing once a month in our main venue for all three services. Being on the worship team is a dream come true because I love to sing and worship God. It is also a privilege to pray for others while I am on stage. As we sing the songs, I ask the Holy Spirit to encourage, build up and cement God’s truth into the people’s hearts.

4. My first Tattoo

The last couple of years, I have been thinking and praying about getting a tattoo. It felt terrifying to think about it but thrilling at the same time. A tattoo is very permanent so I didn’t want to take this lightly. In September, I settled on what I wanted. I knew pretty quickly that I wanted the tattoo on my wrist so I could see it daily. I wanted it to be a mark and reminder for me. This past Tuesday evening, Jonathan and I headed to a local tattoo parlor.

Tattoo

It’s still hard to believe I actually did it. I absolutely love my tattoo! The anchor reminds that I am anchored in Jesus alone. He alone is my security and identity. TheΒ rope on the anchor reminds me to be tethered to Jesus alone. The Scripture reference on my tattoo has become very special to me this year. My word of the year is β€˜secure.’ This verse has secure in it and is an incredible promise that I hold on to. I am excited about the conversations my tattoo will spark.

β€œLet the beloved of theΒ LordΒ rest secure in him, for he shields him all day long, and the one theΒ LordΒ lovesΒ rests between his shoulders.” Β Deuteronomy 33:12

5. Watching the World Series

It’s been late nights around my house lately but it is so worth it! It has been awesome to watch the World Series. I was born and raised in Cleveland most of my life so I have always been a Cleveland Indians fan. I am thrilled they are in the World Series! As I watched Game 1 and 2, so many memories of time spent at Progressive Field (formerly known as Jacob’s field) came flooding back. I’m looking forward to watching the rest of the World Series. Go Tribe!!
