Friends, Book Signing and Prayers Answered
It has been a fast but fun week around here. How has yours been? Friends, Book Signing and Prayers Answered are just a few of my favorite things from this week.
1. Friends
My friend Marcie was in town briefly at the beginning of September. She moved to Ohio over a year ago and we don’t get to see each other as often. We met for coffee which was a treat. I love any amount of time I can have with Marcie. She is a dear friend who challenges and encourages me so well.
2. Book Signing
This past Friday, my friend Natalie and I did a book signing in Nappanee at the Coppes Commons.
It was fun to see lots of people and meet new people. We co-authored a devotional together called When The Bases are Loaded which was available at the book signing. (Visit the Store page for an autographed copy)
Natalie’s fiction series was also available at the book signing. If you are looking for some books to read, I HIGHLY recommend this series. The books are called A Rescued Heart, A Rescued Hope, A Rescued Love and A Rescued Life.
3. Family Goal Retreat
Each December, Jonathan and I sit down and plan family goals for the following year. It is a great time to look ahead and prepare for the next year. I love how God gives us a “Word of the Year” and a bible verse for the year. We also enjoyed celebrating 2016 with the kids. Team Corbin!
4. Time at School
This week, I enjoyed going to the school two times. I helped in Micaela’s classroom on Tuesday with a papermaking activity.
This morning, I attended the “Singing Off the Wall” which is hosted by all grades. The kids are so excited about this event. I loved watching our kids in action. Micaela did the motion for eleven pipers piping. Analiah’s kindergarten class did a Snow Angel song. Fun memories!
5. Prayers Answered
This week, I experienced specific prayers answered. To some, these requests may seem small. But, I love that God cares about everyone. No request is ever too small. Analiah really wanted to go to JoJo’s Pretzels for the family fun she planned this week. Last week, we told her we didn’t have the extra funds. We encouraged her to pray about it. At a party that Jonathan and I attended last week, the gift we received was a “lovely” wreath with a gift certificate to JoJo’s attached to it. God is so cool!!
The weather this week has been so cold and snowy. I really wanted to be able to go to my MOPS meeting on Thursday. But, I also knew if there was a delay in the school systems, MOPS would be canceled. So, I prayed and asked God to keep it warm enough so there was no delay. Guess what? We had MOPS yesterday and it was a great time!
One more! After MOPS, I headed to Aldi for grocery shopping. After arriving, I noticed that the back of my key fob was missing. This has happened once before. I looked all around but to no avail. The key fob could be anywhere! So, my four-year-old son Caleb and I prayed and asked Jesus to help us find it. Two errands later, we arrived home. As we unloaded the groceries, I found the back of the key fob on the garage floor. God is so awesome! He cares about the little things.
I hope you enjoyed reading about the five things I am grateful for this past couple of weeks. It was fun writing about it all. How about you? What are you grateful for this week? I would love to hear about your week. Please share in the comments below. Have a great weekend!
