Movies, Muffins and a Mattress

Despite the dreary weather, it has been a great week around here. How has yours been? As I look back on the last couple weeks, I am grateful for the movies, muffins, and a mattress. Read on to see the other two things I am grateful for.

1. Going to the movies

Last week on our date night, Jonathan and I went to the movies. What a treat! We watched the movie called Hidden Figures. It was a great movie! The story is based on true events and is very powerful. I would highly recommend going to see this movie.

2. The book of Joshua

First 5 is an app that Proverbs 31 Ministries created. Soon after is started up, I joined in. Every study has been powerful and life-changing for me. Right now we are studying the Book of Joshua. The phrase that keeps jumping out at me is that Joshua did exactly as God instructed him. Wow! This is what I want to be said of me! I also enjoyed journaling right in my Inspire Journaling bible as I read in Joshua.

3. Refuel Conference

This past weekend, I attended the Refuel Conference at Bethel College in Mishawaka, Indiana. It is a conference for worship leaders and really is a time to be refueled. Jared Anderson and members of the Vertical Church band were the guest speakers. I walked away challenged and refreshed! The worship time was pretty incredible too and a piece of heaven.

4. Blueberry Muffins

My kids were off on Monday because of Martin Luther King Jr. day. We all enjoyed the relaxed schedule. It’s a fun time to dig in with the kids. One of the activities we did was make blueberry muffins. We used to do β€œMuffin Monday” regularly but have stopped because the older three kids are in school and Caleb goes to preschool on Mondays. Analiah and Caleb were especially excited to make muffins.Β They love to put the muffin liners in. Analiah loves the little muffins the best. Their conversations are always fun to listen to. My favorite comment was β€œCaleb, don’t eat the batter. It has rotten eggs in it.” I giggled inside and said, β€œAnaliah, I think you mean raw eggs, right?”

5. A new mattress

We have been on a hunt for a new mattress. It’s a hard purchase since you can’t really try it out before buying it. I think we have landed on the perfect fit though. We picked one up from Costco last week.

Mattress

My rock star husband loaded the mattress and box spring on the borrowed truck while it was very cold and blowing snow. What a guy! It’s a blessing to have a different mattress. We were both experiencing some back problems and not sleeping well. That has changed thanks to a new mattress.

I hope you enjoyed reading about the five things I am grateful for this past couple of weeks. It was fun writing about it all. How about you?Β What are you grateful for this week? I would love to hear about your week. Please share in the comments below. Have a great weekend!
