5 FREE Family Fun Activities
Do you like to have fun? One of my favorite ways to have fun is our weekly Family Fun Nights. This is something we started many years ago. Generally, our Family Fun Night is on a Friday.
Today, I am going to share five free family fun activities we have enjoyed over the years. Hopefully, it will spark some ideas for your family fun night.
1. Go to a nearby park or school playground
Look for a nearby park or school playground to play at. The variety of the school parks is something we really enjoy. We love to rotate through different parks.
2. Build a fort and read
Grab some card tables (or other plastic tables), chairs, and blankets. Next, head over to your kitchen table or couches and start building a fort. Itβs fun to see what ideas your kids come up with. Let them lead the building process and see their leadership skills blossom. After the fort is done, grab your books and have a reading time.
3. Movie and Popcorn
Head over to your local library and check out a movie. Or use one you already own. Next, pop some popcorn to enjoy. The kids love to snuggle on the couch for the movie. Even when my kids were babies, Jonathan and I took turns holding the baby so they could be involved too. Movie time can be a really great connect time with your kids. Read about one of those times in this post.

4. Board Games
We all have board games but how often do they get used? Dust them off and have a game night! When the kids are younger, Candyland and Chutes & Ladders may be to the go to games. As they get older, there is more variety. Our current favorite is Tumbling Monkeys. We are at the stage where the younger two will team up with Jonathan and me if the game is geared toward older kids such as Ticket to Ride. Itβs a great way for us all be involved.

5. Bike Ride
Pull out the bikes and head to a nearby trail. Or you can just bike around your neighborhood. We have had many adventures on the βmoonβ with our bikes. Read about it in this post. When the kids were younger, we used a bike trailer. Now, they are riding on their own which has been a fun adventure.
