How a Bag Saved Me Many Times

Activity Bag

Have you ever had to wait? Maybe it has been for a doctor, dentist or hair appointment. The wait can be extra stressful when you are with kids. It’s so hard to keep them entertained. You may have wanted to pull your hair out many times. I have been there. I have had to wait countless times over the years. Β That is the reason I put together an activity bag. This is the bag that has saved me many, many times over the years.

The Activity Bag is a bag filled with activities for the kids to do while waiting. I store the activity bag in the back of my van so it is always readily available. There are many options of what to put in your activity bag. What do your kids enjoy doing? I recommend adding some of those activities to your activity bag. Here is a peek in my bag:

Coloring Books, a bag of crayons and Word Search Books

Games of any sort. Our bag has a matching game, checkers, and Uno. There is also a deck of cards for card games.

Puzzles of any kind are another option.

Paper, pencils, pens and cards. (I actually need to restock my greeting card stash.) The kids can write notes to family members or friends. They could also write a thank you note for a gift.

Most of the items in our Activity Bag are from Dollar Tree. I picked up a couple of the items at Walmart. You can find most items online too. I recommend placing all the items in a bag that zips at the top.

So, the next time you have an appointment and your kids are with you, grab your activity bag out of your vehicle. Let the kids have fun while you wait. Play a game with them or get down beside them and color. The kids may even do things on their own from the Activity Bag. Hopefully this post has given you some ideas to make the wait more peaceful and fun.
