Mother’s Day, End of Year Events, and Jonathan’s Birthday
Wow! It’s already June! We enjoyed a full but fun May. How did your May go? Today is my monthly Friday Favorites post where I share my five favorite things from the previous month. Mother’s Day, End of Year Events and Jonathan’s Birthday are just a few of my favorite things from this past month. Read on to see what my other favorites are.
1. Women’s Conference
Our church hosted a Divine Design Women’s Conference the first weekend of May. It was a refreshing time to press pause on life. The speakers were all amazing and the worship was powerful. I loved focusing on how God designed us as women and the impact we have in our world.
2. End of Year Events
Caleb’s Preschool Spring Program was at the beginning of May. It was so fun watching his class share what they have learned throughout the year.
Analiah’s class went to the Fort Wayne Zoo for a field trip. I loved spending time with Analiah and her classmates. My favorite part was when Analiah prayed the peacock would open his feathers and about 5 minutes later the peacock did. God is so good!
The 6th grade band did a Spring Pops Concert. Micaela did a great job! She has learned so much this year in band.
3. Fight Club Graduation
Jonathan graduated from Fight Club Chapter 14 earlier this month. I am so proud of him for all his hard work during this chapter. It takes a lot of time and effort but Jonathan keeps going. I am so thankful he is the gatekeeper for our family.
Fight Club is the Men’s Ministry at our church. It is actually a program that is used in over 200 churches across the globe. Fight Club challenges men to be who God has made them to be. It is based on Nehemiah 4:14 which reads:
“After I looked things over, I stood up and said to the nobles, the officials and the rest of the people, “Don’t be afraid of them. Remember the Lord, who is great and awesome, and fight for your families, your sons and your daughters, your wives and your homes.”

4. Mother’s Day and Mother’s Tea
I absolutely love being a Mom. I am grateful and humbled that God chose me to be Micaela, Nathan, Analiah, and Caleb’s Mom. My desire is to connect even more with my kids this coming year.
I had the privilege of speaking at a Mother’s Tea for a group called Hope Mommies. The theme verses for the tea were 2 Corinthians 4:16-18. It was a very special time connecting with these amazing women and focusing on all that God has in store for us.
I loved how we took time to remember the precious babies that are waiting for us in heaven.
5. Jonathan’s 40th birthday
We celebrated Jonathan’s 40th birthday on May 22. It was a fun day to focus on the amazing man that Jonathan is. I am forever grateful to God for bringing Jonathan into my life.
He follows hard after God, an incredible husband and a very involved Dad. Jonathan is also involved in so many other things and is gifted in many ways. I can’t wait to see what this next year has in store for Jonathan.
I hope you enjoyed reading about the five things I am grateful for this past month. It was fun writing about it all. How about you? What are you grateful for this past month? I would love to hear about your month. Please share in the comments below. Have a great weekend!
**PS- I am going to take a break from the Friday Favorites Posts until September. During the summer my goal is to engage with my kids more so I am creating more room to do just that.
