Update on my Goals and Habits

October is here! There are only three more months left in this year. Today, I will give an update on with my goals and habits for the year.

Myself Goals

Read 6-8 books related to personal growth

This goal is going fairly well. Right now, I am reading She’s Still There by Chrystal Evans Hurst. I am really enjoying it and have underlined so much. Next, I plan to finish The Happiness Dare and Circle Maker. These are books I started earlier this year and want to finish.

Get to and maintain goal weight

I am almost done with the 30 Day Challenge through www.bettyrocker.com. This challenge has helped me to be more consistent with exercise. I have also made some pretty big changes to my eating routine with one of Betty Rocker’s meal plans. I am really enjoying this journey of eating smarter and weight loss.

Marriage Goals

Read 6-8 marriage books by December 31, 2017

This month, I plan to start 7 Secrets to an Awesome Marriage by Dr. Kim Kimberling. Jonathan and I are still reading Crazy Little Thing Called Marriage. We have slacked in our reading but plan to finish by the end of the year.

Serve Jonathan in at least one way a day

I’m really glad I am writing this update post because it is reminding me to work on this goal. This school year has been a different kind of busy and I haven’t been making this a priority. I am going to work at serving because I know how important it is.

Pray daily for Jonathan

This is one goal I am doing well on. Yay! I love this goal because it reminds me to pray for the most important person in my life.

Motherhood Goals

Read 6- 8 parenting books by December 31, 2017

So far, I am on track with this goal. This month, I am excited to read 31 days to Becoming a Happy Mom. My friend Megan and I are going to read this book together which is always more fun.Β  I love Arlene Pellicane’s books, so I am looking forward to reading it.

Have one on one time with each kid 1-2 times a week

This goal has been challenging for me with the school year in full swing. Jonathan and I are going to try and work one on one time in over the weekends.

My Community

Pray for 10 minutes 4-5 days a week

This is another goal that has been challenging for me. But, I will keep pushing through because prayer is powerful!

Send out Birthday cards to extended family each month

This has been another fun goal. I have enjoyed sending out cards. Hopefully, the recipients have enjoyed it too.

Habits for 2017

30-second kiss daily– Again, so thankful I am updating today. I need to work on this habit.

Pause for 5-10 minutes in the middle of the day – Phew! This one has been tough. I know how beneficial it is to pause but I have not been taking time for this. Hopefully this next month, I will make this habit a priority.
