3 Ways to Take Care of YOU

Do you feel tired, worn out and ready to throw in the towel? Maybe you wonder when you will catch a break. As women, we are always on the go managing many tasks and taking care of people. Too often, we forget to take care of ourselves. But, this is something we must do. Β Here are three ways to take care of YOU.

  1. Spend time in the Word

Each day, I believe it’s important to spend time in the Word. Even if it can only be a few minutes. The bible is filled with truths and promises that will encourage your heart. As you spend time reading and reflecting, God will fill you up with the strength you need for each day.

  1. Read books

Another way to take care of YOU is by reading books. Maybe you enjoy reading fiction.Β  It’s fun to take a little break from life and jump into another person’s adventure in a book. Or maybe you prefer Nonfiction. There are so many wonderfulΒ books out there to challenge and encourage you in whatever area you want to grow in.

Another option for reading books is audio books. You can listen on the go while doing dishes or even when you are working out. It’s a great way to read books.

  1. Go to conferences

The third way to take care of YOU is to continue growing and learning by going to conferences. There are so many options available. My favorite conference to go to is called Hearts at Home. In fact, this conference starts today and I am so thrilled to be at it! Each day, there are workshops and main sessions. The speakers are fantastic! I always walk away challenged, refreshed and encouraged in my role as a Mom and wife.

Depending on your season of life, a conference may be hard to get to. But, I encourage you to make the time to get away. You are worth the time! The growth you will experience will affect the whole family in a positive way.

Take care of YOU

Often I tell people (and myself), you need to take care of yourself. If you don’t, no one else will. This is the truth! You are valuable and worth spending time on. Your family will thank you for taking care of yourself.

There are many ways to take care of yourself. Daily spending time in God’s word being filled up. Reading or listening to books that help you grow and books that help you relax. And finally, make time to go to conferences that encourage you in your roles. What are some other ways you can take care of YOU? Please comment below. I would love to hear your ideas. Have fun taking care of YOU!

With little people and homeschooling, I really miss time alone. I’m also refreshed by nature and exercise. Getting outside to exercise alone is my favorite trifecta to recharge and come home calm and smiling.
