I want MORE!
This is my 15-month-old son Caleb and he wants more. Almost every morning I feed Caleb his cereal. His isn’t quite ready to feed it to himself without making a big mess. Honestly, it can be a little frustrating because my task-oriented self would like to be doing something else. But, God has used this time to teach me a few things.
The first thing God has taught me is to focus on the here and now. This time feeding Caleb can be precious. I can choose to focus on loving him, serving him and meeting his needs. I am his Mom and that is what I am here for.
Caleb is a big eater and most of the time he can’t seem to get enough. So, when I am feeding him, he will often grab at me for more even when he still has food in his mouth. This can be very annoying. But, again God taught me that I can be the same way with Him. He gives me my daily bread and yet I can be ungrateful and grab at Him for more. I don’t necessarily need more since my mouth is already full. He wants me to be content with what I have. Wow, what a lesson.
“I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want.” -Philippians 4:13
Contentment. So hard to be sometimes, but something I know I need to grow in.
God knows what I need. He knows what you need. Will you trust Him? Will you grab hold of Him and trust that He will give you what you need?
