Never Stop Praying

Never Stop Praying. Say What?

Always be joyful. Never Stop Praying. Be thankful in all circumstances. Say what? How in the world do you do this? When I read these commands in 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18, I really wondered if they were doable or impossible. After spending time studying these verses, I realized they were doable.

Notifications – Good or Bad?

Do you enjoy notifications on your phone? Or do they annoy you? For me, it depends on who the reminder comes from or how loud it is. At one point, I turned off all notifications on my phone because it was just too much noise. Notifications can also be a blessing. In today’s post, I want to share how.

Lessons from an Amish Buggy

Can you imagine life without your phone or electricity? How about without a car for transportation? I can’t imagine it either which is why the Amish intrigue me so much. We live in an area where it is not uncommon to see an Amish buggy. So, this summer when some family came in from Utah to visit, we went on an Amish buggy ride. The buggy ride ended up being more fun than I thought. God also used it to teach me to slow down and pay attention.

Walking Through Fear

I am afraid of deep water. Really afraid. I think it goes back to my swimming lessons as a youth. They made us jump into the deep end and that experience scared me for life. To this day, I avoid being near deep water as much as possible. This past summer, God used a lighthouse to help me walk through my fear of deep water.

What are you building?

Two kids, two boards, nails and one hammer. Caleb and Analiah were outside working on a project. Analiah went first with the hammer. Then, Caleb took his turn hammering nails into the board. Analiah complained and whined, “When can I have a turn again?” I responded that her turn would be soon. Next, I encouraged her to cheer Caleb on while he worked. At first, Analiah didn’t like the idea. She was so focused on getting her turn that Analiah didn’t want to cheer her brother on.

My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.

My sheep listen to my voice

We are surrounded by voices all day long. Some are audible, such as friends, family, coworkers, and the media. Others are in our own heads: fears, doubts, or the lies we’ve believed. But Jesus promises that His sheep will know His voice. The more time we spend in the Word, the easier it becomes to…

Embrace the Challenges in Life

When a hard situation comes in life, how do you tend to respond? Do you question God and wonder what you did wrong? Or do you see the challenge as an opportunity to lean into God and become more like Him? In my life I responded in both ways. But, the more time I spend…
