Have you ever read a book that resonated with your soul on many levels? Me too. I recently finished Uninvited by Lysa TerKeurst. Uninvited is life changing. So many quotes are underlined in this book. This is a book I will be unpacking for a long time. The three points that really impacted me are: God’s love is placed on me, I choose what enters my heart and rejection never has the final say.

Do you feel like you are in the middle of a war? Do you feel like an army is surrounding you and you can’t catch a break? King David felt that same way. In today’s verse, we are jumping right into David’s life and getting a taste of what he experienced. We also see how he came out of it. God used this verse and an experience with Analiah to teach me three things. When life feels out of control, I need to reach up, push through and repeat.

If you would stop and take the temperature of your marriage right now, what would it be? Cold or hot? When a bible study opportunity came across, I asked myself this same question. Jonathan and I have been married 16 years and still going strong. Our marriage is a blessing though not without its challenges. So, when the bible study The Husband Project was presented to me, I jumped at the chance to see what it was all about especially if it could help our marriage to thrive even more.

Your kids are watching you. They are taking their cues in life from you whether you want them to or not. That can be terrifying for me sometimes since I mess up time and time again. But, thankfully God’s grace is sufficient. The other day at the park I was surprised at how our oldest daughter responded.

My family is very important to me. In 2011, my family grew. In addition to my children at home, I have about 50 more children on the other side of the world. I was part of a team who went over to visit our rescued orphans in Cambodia and Thailand. Since 2011, I have had the privilege to go back two more times.

Today, I am headed out on a Mission Trip to Asia so that means I will be taking a break from blogging. Going back is going to be so much fun!  Our church has an orphanage in Cambodia and one in Thailand. We are going over to visit our kids and encourage the Asia’s Hope staff.
